Camping

Stretch out under open skies, walk where history lives, and find your own kind of peace.

The Peace Treaty Association invites our guests to stay awhile. Campers visiting Memorial Peace Park are treated to a uniquely immersive agritourism experience, rich in both natural beauty and rural activity. From primitive camping beneath star-studded Kansas skies to wilderness hiking, the park offers opportunities to explore, reflect and reconnect. Designated areas support contained, permitted campfires, waterless accessible restrooms, a non-potable water station and handicap-accessible spaces providing rustic comfort while preserving accessibility for all visitors.

A 5000-star review! It’s said that over 5,000 stars are visible to the human eye from Memorial Peace Park — we hope you find them all!

Campers can engage in a wide range of nature-based experiences. Activities include seasonal viewing, historical walks and Kansas sunset watching. There’s space for families to run and play games, climb on our primitive-log playground, explore and spend time together. Groups of all ages and interests may arrange events, structured activities and even outdoor wellness sessions. Our proximity to the Medicine Lodge Municipal Airport allows unique fly-in camping and trail experiences for aircraft enthusiasts.

Memorial Peace Park is a cultural and natural resource rooted in Kansas heritage located just east of historic Medicine Lodge and the eastern gateway to the Gypsum Hills Scenic Byway. From our quiet, secluded, treed areas to our wide-open prairie and pasture with breathtaking vistas, we offer a direct connection to our historic land. These features create a memorable and enriching experience.
